Infobit - NASA's Falling UARS Satellite Found in Remote South Pacific

This is one of many man made pieces of hardware to fall out of space. With the sky filling up with more and more satellites every year, the risk of one these satellites coming down on a residential areas is increasing tremendously. The projected re-entry of this satellite was so far off that the satellite itself came down in the opposite hemisphere. Wouldn't it be easier to just blow them up before they begin their decent. avoid any potential unnecessary damage to property and people. A German astronomy Satellite is expected to begin its uncontrolled decent in late October and more parts are expected to survive re-entry over the UARS, I wonder where that one will land.
