Info Bit - Natural gas Step down energy harnessed

Natural gas has been used to heat and power households, while also heating water ever since the natural gas pipelines have been put in. Natural gas pressure starts off extremely high and through step down stations is reduced to a pressure that can be used within households. Before this energy was lost when the gas pressure was stepped down but now by installing a turbine inside the step down chamber that excess energy can be harnessed to produce electricity. There are multiple step down stations along each pipeline and each station can produce enough power for up to 1000 households. This innovation helps provide the energy for our ever increasing energy demand. This method not only helps harness the energy that was being lost but its a small attachment to an already existing system making it more efficient and keeping the cost for the new system down.
